By and large, this number is made up of isolated case reports and cases culled from reviews of the literature.1-8The largest single series of cases of acute leukemia previously reported consists of four.7, 9Most reports group both the acute and the chronic leukemias together (the latter group consisting of the greater number of cases), and, as most authors have pointed out, the experience at any one center is extremely limited.
