V de Vingança – uma vendeta contra a homofobia e fascismo

RESUMO O artigo analisa algumas questoes presentes na historia em quadrinhos (HQ) V de Vinganca , de Alan Moore, e no filme nela baseado. V de Vinganca se passa numa Inglaterra futurista. Apos uma Terceira Guerra Mundial e assolada por bombardeios, a Inglaterra esta mergulhada no caos. Depois de algum tempo, a ordem e estabelecida, mas por meio de manipulacoes politicas e ideologicas de um governo fascista que caca os direitos civis, impoe uma forte censura aos meios de comunicacao e reprime violentamente os opositores e livros, musicas e obras de arte considerados perigosos para a manutencao da ordem sao destruidos. Dentre aqueles considerados nao adequados a nova ordem estao os estrangeiros, muculmanos, negros e os homossexuais que sao encaminhados aos chamados campos de readaptacao, onde sao torturados e feitos como cobaias de experiencias. V e um homem que sobreviveu as experiencias e, usando sempre uma mascara, vai eliminando os lideres fascistas. Tanto a HQ quanto o filme sao sobre o amor e sobre o que regimes totalitarios podem fazer com a vida das pessoas, no que elas podem se transformar, no que elas podem ser roubadas, na sua essencia e dignidade e na possibilidade de lutarem contra a submissao. PALAVRAS-CHAVE : Literatura; Estudos Culturais; Homofobia. ABSTRACT The article examines some issues present in the comic book (HQ) V for Vendetta, Alan Moore, and the movie based on it. V for Vendetta takes place in a futuristic England. After a third world war and plagued by bombings, Britain is plunged into chaos. After some time, the order is established, but through political manipulation and ideological needs of a fascist government that hunts civil rights, imposes a strong censorship on the media and violently repressing opponents and books, songs and works of art considered dangerous to the maintenance of order are destroyed. Among those considered unsuitable to the new order are foreigners, Muslims, blacks and homosexuals who are referred to so-called rehabilitation camps, where they are tortured and made as guinea pigs for experiments. V is a man who survived the experience, and always wearing a mask, will eliminate the fascist leaders. Both the comic and the movie are about love and what totalitarian regimes can do with people's lives, what they can become, as they can be stolen, in essence and dignity and the possibility of fighting against submission.
