ResumoResearch Article| December 01 2010 Embodied Experimentalism and Henry Cowell’s The Banshee MARIA CIZMIC MARIA CIZMIC Maria Cizmic is Assistant Professor of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of South Florida. She completed her Ph.D. in musicology at the University of California-Los Angeles, where she was a Jacob K. Javitz fellow. Maria is currently working on a book project entitled “Performing Pain: Music and Trauma in Eastern Europe” (forthcoming in 2011). In addition to trauma, mourning, and music, Maria’s areas of interest include film music, technology, the body, and performance.
