ResumoEsterification of acetic acid with C2-C4 alcohols is studied over Hβ, HZSM-5, HY, DHY (dealuminated Y) and γ-Al2O3 in the temperature range 100–150°C using different feed rates of 11 (mole ratio) acetic acid: alcohol mixture. High conversion and selectivity obtained on Hβ-zeolite show that Hβ zeolite has suitable acidity / acid site strength that is required to carry out esterification reaction.
