Further evidence in support of the thesis that the adrenal cortical secretions are involved in the maintenance of hypertension has been presented in another publication by one of us.3The importance of the salt-retaining adrenal hormones in maintaining hypertension is suggested by the authors' experience in the treatment of hypertensive patients who subsequently have developed Addison's disease (figures 1 and 2). Under these circumstances a...Bibliography1. ThornForshamFrawleyHillRocheStaehelinWilson GWPHTFSRMDDL: Medical progress: the clinical usefulness of ACTH and cortisone, New England J.
