ResumoA floristic survey of Poaceae was carried out at the Centro de Educacao Superior do Norte do Rio Grande do Sul, campus of Palmeira das Missoes, situated in Northern Rio Grande do Sul. The survey was made through weekly and fortnightly field trips, comprising all the vegetation types in the area. A hundred and twenty-six species were confirmed, distributed in 54 genera and eight subfamilies. Panicoideae (76 species) is the most representative subfamily, followed by Pooideae (22), Chloridoideae (19), Aristidoideae (four) and Ehrhartoideae (two). Bambusoideae, Danthonioideae and Pharoideae are represented only by one species. Paspalum L. (19 species), Eragrostis Wolf (nine), Andropogon L. (six) and Chascolytrum (six) are the most representative genera. A hundred and nine species (86.5%) are native and 17 (13.5%) are exotic. The occurrence of Canastra aristella (Doll) Zuloaga & Morrone in the campus is noteworthy because it’s a critically endangered species in the Rio Grande do Sul. This study provides the list of the species confirmed for the area, identification keys for the genera and the species, as well as illustrations of taxonomic significance.
