Sun, Earth and Moon. Relative movements and their consequencesWhen we ask students about the cause of the seasons, they often reply: “in summer we are closer to the Sun and in winter we are further from it”. The persistence of this idea and the fact that it is widespread among the students and many adults induced me to write this article, which tries to explain, in a clear and simple way, the reason for this and other phenomena that take place as a result of the motion of the Moon around the Earth and of the Earth around the Sun.Keywords: Sun; Earth; Moon; Seasons; Persistence previous ideas; Eclipse; Day and night; Moon phases.
