Resumo

This study was carried out in greenhouses in the Kumluca and Finike region to investigate the nutritional status of the tomato plant grown as single crop. For this objective, leaf and soil samples (from depth of 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm) from 20 tomato greenhouses in each region were collected in the middle of the growing period. The analyses were made to determine pH, CaCO3, EC, texture, organic matter, total N, available P, exchangeable K, Ca, Mg, available Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu in soil samples and N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu in leaf samples. While most of the soil samples were highly calcareous and had high pH for tomato growing, the textures were found suitable. Soil samples were mostly poor in organic matter content and had slight, medium and high salinitiy. The total N and available Fe in Finike region were more sufficient than Kumluca region. Available P, exchangeable K, Ca, Mg and available Zn, Mn, Cu contents of the soil samples in each region were generally sufficient. The results of leaf analysis showed that the classification of nutrient elements in each region were as follows: N, P, K contents were low and sufficient; Ca contents were high; Mg, Zn, Mn, Cu contents were sufficient and high; Fe contents were sufficient. Besides, N:K ratios in the nearly half of the leaf samples were not balanced.
