Resumo

Experiment was carried out to study the effect of four levels of nitrogen fertilization (0, 50, 100 and 200 kg N ha-1) on dry matter and crude protein production and plant height, leaf/stem relationship and chemical composition in two cuts of black oat cv IAPAR 61, in areas where soybean was cultivated. The experiment was conducted in randomized blocks, in which two cuts of black oat were evaluated. Total dry matter was 3283, 4691, 4993 and 5471kg ha-1 for levels 0, 50, 100 and 200 kg, respectively. There was no difference between the plant height and leaf/steam relationship for different levels of nitrogen. However, the stem proportion was higher in the second cut. Levels of crude protein and digestible crude protein were higher as level of nitrogen fertilization increased. Proportion of acid detergent fiber decreased as level of nitrogen fertilization increased. Comparing the first and second cuts, higher proportion of crude protein and digestible crude protein were reported in the first cut. Higher levels of acid and neutral detergent fiber were observed in the second cut.
