ResumoClient-side scripting languages, such as JavaScript and VBScript, have become a popular choice for developing interactive and dynamic Web pages. Recent versions of Netscape Navigator's JavaScript and Microsoft's JScript are implementations of the ECMA 262 language specification called ECMAScript Edition 3. VBScript is a subset of the Visual Basic programming language by Microsoft that is supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer. The scripts written in any of these three languages can run only in the presence of a Web browser or an interpreter such as Internet Explorer. In this report, a brief comparison is made of the core features of VBScript, JScript, and JavaScript scripting languages. This will provide an insight into different features of these languages and assist in making an informed decision and also promote research in the development of better scripting languages.
