Resumo

Abstract AB block copolymers of polystyrene and poly(dimethylsiloxane) have been synthesized by “living” anionic polymerisation methods. The micellar behaviour of these block copolymers in n ‐alkanes has been investigated as a function of the molecular weight of the polystyrene anchor A block and of the anchor/soluble balance (ASB) calculated from the relative block lengths. Micelle sizes have been determined by electron microscopy and are shown to conform to a simple geometrical model based upon two concentric spheres, when the ASB is below 18.
