ResumoThe knowledge of honey bee flora from a determinate region constitutes an essential one essential instrument for the beekeeper optimize your production. The present work was developed with the objective of identify and observe the flowering period of the species honey bee flora of plants arboreal existent as in this Microregion, this way, to contribute for the development of a maintainable beekeeping. The Apis botanical inventory was realized during September 2006 thru June of 2007 with collections of arboreal plants monthly, in agreement with the flowering period verifying the presence of bees, the collection type and the period in that the plant remained in flowering was registered. The samples of the collected plants were herborization and identified in Botanical Sector of CCA/UFPB. They were picked 16 species of plants in the places belonging to the municipal district of Catole of Rocha, being these identified and classified in eight families, being observed the flowering period along the experimental year. The eight identified families were Anacardiaceae, Chrysobalanaceae, Fabaceae-Leguminosae, Leguminasae-Caesalpinioideae, Leguminosae-Mimosoideae, Meliaceae, Mimosaceae and Rhmnaceae. There was the formation of groups, where some species of plants were found at all the places, while another were just found at a place. The species Angico, Juazeiro and Jurema Preta were found at all the places, while Canafistula, Oiticica, Timbauba and Sabia were found in just a place. Probably, the honey type produced in the area of Catole of Rocha, in the dry period, it is in your largest part originating from of plants of the arboreal type. An analysis melisopalinologic of the honeys of arboreal floral origin is suggested, as decisive of the origin of the plants that supplied larger amount of nectar in the final composition of that honey.
