ResumoThis article critically engages aspects of Kate Bornstein's transgender theory as found in Gender Outlaw. Drawing on recent work in Lacanian psychoanalysis, and on insights from Bornstein's account, I pose questions about the ways in which sex, gender, desire, and subjectivity are theorized.
