ResumoThe note approaches the empirical survey of the relationships between real exchange rates, incomeelasticities of exports and imports, growth relative to the rest-of-the-word and trade balances in the Brazilian economy since the beginning of the 1980s. The exercise finds different patterns of adjustment among those variables between the eighties and the nineties.
