ResumoTanakura sheared zone, locating in the southwestern margin of the Abukuma mountainland, runs through Tanakura-machi from Ota-machi, Ibaraki Pref., to the west of Sukagawa-machi, Fukushima Pref., with a direction of NNW., It is bordered with a great fault of same direction, and consists of the older rocks, found in the Yamizo and Abukuma mountainland, Tertiary rocks, distributed along the river Kuji and sheared rocks of them., Tanakura tectonic zone, existed in the nearly same area during the Pre-Tertiary period, acted again in the Tertiary period controlling the condition of their sediments., And as a result of the accumlative faulting movement at the close of Mioc., it shows the present Takakura sheared zone.,
