The present paper is a record of 14 cases that I have seen during the past three years, and 59 that I have collected from the literature. It has seemed worth while to make a study of this condition because, being an end-result, its etiology has been disputed and obscure, its clinical significance is not well understood, and the indications for treatment are unknown.
