Resumo

The possibility of a renewal of manned exploration missions in outer space exists in both the USA and the USSR - but in very different contexts. The authors analyse the reasons for past missions and examine the debate surrounding the Space Exploration Initiative in the USA and Mars 94 and 98 missions in the USSR.
