ResumoSeveral published coding changes effective in 2011 will contribute to changes in cytopathology payments. A new code for the additional immediate evaluation of fine-needle aspiration specimens is now operative and will be favorable to laboratories, whereas the new dedicated urine in situ hybridization codes will result in lower laboratory payments.
