ResumoAbstract A case of interaction of the genes for hemoglobin C and "high fetal" has been reported, with an incomplete family study. The "high F" gene seems to behave as a dominant one. A discussion of the relationship, if any, with this disease to "classical" C-thalassemia was presented. The evidence is inconclusive, but this case does not fit the picture of C-thalassemia as previously reported and is considered to be a separate condition.
