Resumo

ABSTRACT Amiodane is an anthyarritmic drug largely used in medicine. Despite its evident benefits to the heart, a significant number of patients using amiodarone develop thyroid disturbances, either hyper or hypothyroidism. In this review we will discuss some aspects related to the main effects of amiodarone on the thyroid gland, as well as the management of these disfunctions.
