ResumoSUMMARY The Amblypygi are represented in Somalia and Ethiopia by species belonging to the subfamilies Phrynichinae and Damoninae. The validity of the genus Myodalis Simon, 1936 is questioned. The species of the genus Phrynichus Karsch, 1879 so far found to occur in this region are: Phrynichus jayakari Pocock, 1894, Phrinichus scaber scaber (Gervais, 1844), Phrynichus scaber longespina (Simon, 1936) and Phrynichus scaber deflersi (Simon, 1887); however no specimens belonging to P. scaber deflersi have actually been examined. The species of the genus Damon C. L. Koch, 1850 occurring in this region are: D. diadema Simon, 1876, D. variegatus (Perty, 1834) and D. medius (Herbst, 1797); however, no specimen belonging to the last mentioned species has actually been examined. Phrynus pavesii C. Fenizia, 1897 is here regarded as a nomen dubium. An account of the organ known as «cleaning brush» and of the first pair of legs is given for each species.
