Granulocytopenia and aplastic anemia have been reported less frequently. Of the three dyscrasias aplastic anemia has proved most fatal.Thrombocytopenia. More cases of hemorrhagic purpura than of any other blood disorder have been recorded following gold administration. It is remarkable that in many reports platelet counts are not given, and so thrombocytopenia, in some cases, can only be assumed.Emile-Weil1reported one case of hemorrhagic purpura in 1931; he and Bousser2later referred to 30 instances of "hemorrhagic accidents," but...Bibliography1.
