ResumoComposites are increasingly popular among dentists and are widely used in cosmetic restorative procedures; because the frequent evolution of materials, conservative treatment has been increasingly viable due to its numerous advantages. Some time ago, the most important modifications were involved in reducing the particle size to produce materials that are easier and effective in polishing and finishing. The current changes are more focused on developing materials with reduced polymerization shrinkage, polymerization stress, and are self-adhesive to tooth structure. The application of nanotechnology in direct restorative dental materials, dental is one of the advances that have been highlighted much in the market; another technology that is being investigated is the silorane, and ORMOCERs.Despite this arsenal of materials to date has not been reached excellence of an ideal material.Through this study, this article aims to provide the properties of composites, showing the real state of the art, and what are the prospects for this material, so it is possible that professionals in dentistry, be aware of the advances in composites, so you are prepared to decide which of resin composites should choose to practice dentistry, according to the desired end.
