Resumo

The engine is a conversion of an engine produced by DAF and part of the work was sponsored by DAF. The work was carried out from the end of 1981 to the beginning of 1984. The purpose of the conversion was to: (a) increase torque and power without reducing durability; (b) optimize fuel consumption; (c) reduce cooling requirements; (d) improve combustion noise; (e) decrease emissions (NOx); and (f) make the engine suitable for alternative fuels such as e.g. vegetable oil.
