ResumoKhellol, ammiol, caffeic acid dimethyl ether, and cimifugin, a new bitter cumarin derivative have been isolated from the aqueous extract of the rhizome of Cimicifuga simplex WORMSK. (Ranunculaceae). The structure and the absolute configuration of cimifugin have been shown as IV and XI by chemical and physical methods.
