ResumoThe article outlines the relationship between soccer and television and analyzes how this sport reaches the status of lucrative merchandise in the present situation. The purchase of broadcasting rights appears as media strategy to attract massive audience. This work, a partial research result, is based on a bibliographical revision of Political Economy of Communication’s authors and presents soccer as a product through statistics.
