Abstract Therapists working with bisexual women clients need to inform and prepare themselves in a way that will allow the unique needs of bisexual women to be addressed in a constructive and supportive manner. To date, the literature pertaining to therapy with bisexual women has been extremely limited. This paper attempts to identify ways in which bisexual women's needs in therapy differ from those of either lesbian or heterosexual women clients. Furthermore, it provides suggestions for how therapists can prepare themselves to pursue meaningful and productive work with bisexual women clients.
