They are nevertheless of great importance because of their high mortality and their failure to respond to the various types of therapy, including sulfonamides and penicillin, which have given favorable results in the coccal infections. Only a few reports are as yet available on the results of streptomycin therapy in these types of cases. These reports will be summarized briefly and the results in 24 cases of meningitis due to gram-negative bacilli and in three cases of tuberculous meningitis, that were treated at the Boston...Bibliography1.
