Seventeen Sudanese patients presenting with the nephrotic syndrome and concomitant schistosomiasis mansoni infection were investigated. Renal biopsies revealed proliferative and focal glomuleronephritis as the main glomerular lesion. Three patients had renal amyloidosis, which could be secondary to schistosomiasis.
