Resumo

Zeeman spectra of several transitions in the à 1A″–X̃ 1A′ (000)–(000) band of HCF have been studied by the method of laser induced fluorescence. Lamb dip spectra obtained by the technique of intermodulated fluorescence allowed very high resolutions to be obtained, while the use of a circularly polarized laser beam in the Doppler limited spectrum enabled the absolute sense of the Zeeman splittings to be determined. Magnetic properties of the A state are shown to arise mainly from electron orbital interaction with highly excited vibrational levels of the ground state and, in addition, there are several very localized singlet–triplet perturbations.
