ResumoThis article reflects on Stanley Jevons 100 years after his death, taking for the most part a simple snyoptic point of view. The review addresses three themes. Firstly, a brief biography is given. Secondly, a number of his various works are discussed, especially his famous Theory of Political Economy and his notorious sun-spot theory of trade cycles. An extensive bibliography is provided. Thirdly, an attempt to summarise his influence on economics is made. The conclusion is that he was a genius, prolific In his work, but unfortunately frequently misguided.
