Resumo

Dicrocoelium dendriticum (lancet fluke) were recovered during postmortem examination from the biliary duct of 5 sheep from a flock of 250 sheep of Jakhi pastures in block Chirgaon (Shimla), Himachal Pradesh. The sheep showed symptoms of respiratory distress, diarrhoea, severe anaemia and jaundice. The lancet flukes collected from the bile ducts of sheep were preserved in 5% formalin. Out of these, some of the flukes were teased to obtain the eggs for further confirmation. Specimens were stained to study the detailed morphology of the parasite.
