Thus, in the two states of Iowa and Minnesota, where brucellosis is a serious endemic problem, the first human cases were recognized as recently as 1927. Brucellosis is a disease of major concern at the present time because there are indications that the incidence is on the increase both in domestic animals and in human beings.
