ResumoThis article presents the first results of the re-analysis of Samuel Kirkland Lothrop’s archaeological collection gathered during the field works he carried out in 1925 in the Parana Delta (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina). The archaeological materials from Arroyo Malo, El Cerrillo and Arroyo Sarandi sites of the National Museum of the American Indian collections (Washington, DC), were studied. This new information allows to analyze in depth two key aspects of the article’s discussion: the bone technology and the Southern expansion of the Guarani populations in the La Plata Basin.
