Resumo

It´s an ethnographic text about a bus ride route "678", in Manaus.The text portraits the people´s relations of sociability, above all conversations, who travel by bus from popular neighborhoods of the cities, especially Jorge Teixeira, East zone, for a leisurely Sunday on the Ponta Negra beach, a place where wealthy social groups live.The conversations were analyzed herewith as "gift of words" (CAILLé, p. 2002), emphasizing the people´s ritualistic behavior.The bus ride was looked at here as a "rite of passage" ( VAN GENNEP, p. 2008).
