Resumo

Jerry Wexler has been called The Godfather of Soul Music, and, as a music reporter in the late 1940s, he coined the term rhythm and blues for what had previously been called race records. As a partner in Atlantic Records, he participated in the evolution of the modern music business. And as a producer, Wexler worked with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding. Rhythm and the Blues tells Jerry Wexler's story, from his New York childhood and his stint writing for Billboard, to his partnership at Atlantic Records with Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun.
