ResumoIMAGINE Don Quixote with a dash of Scottish caution, and we have the beloved naturalist in his youth. His main concern is with the pretty girls of Uruguay, and his treatise should prove irresistible to all young biologists. Other scientific themes are carefully avoided, but there is all the fun of a comic revolution, which is tragic enough to draw tears—both sides of humour. It is a grand book, by one of the heroes of science.
