Varias sao as posturas adotadas na apreciacao da relacao entre adepto e divindades nas religioes em geral e particularmente nas chamadas de afro-brasileiras. No caso do candomble, a dita relacao envolve determinados fatores ligados a vida existencial do proprio adepto, as relacoes sociais e tambem as de genero dentro da sociedade. O presente trabalho procura examinar diferentes teorias que tratam da relacao de genero, particularmente as identidades sexuais dentro do candomble, e a questao do transe. Outro objetivo almejado e discutir e enriquecer, junto com a comunidade academica internacional, a questao das identidades sexuais em religioes como o vodum haitiano e a santeria cubana, dois prismas criticos dos estudos sobre religioes deste lado do Atlântico; ou simplesmente dialogar com o vodum beninense sobre a questao. A pesquisa iniciada ha algum tempo, procura discutir a questao a partir de autores como Ruth Landes, Roberto Motta, Patricia Birman, Erwan Dianteil, Alfred Metraux, Vivaldo da Costa Lima, Reginaldo Prandi e outros trabalhos antropologicos referentes a estudos sobre determinadas regioes do mundo, particularmente os de Roberte Hamayon, Saladin d´Anglure, Brac de la Perriere e Bogoraz. ABSTRACT Various are the attitudes adopted in the appreciation of the relation between adepts and deities in religions in general, and particularly in the so-called afro-brazilian religions. In the case of Candomble, the relation involves a series of elements closed to existential life of the adept, the social relations and also those of gender in society. This article tries to examine different theories that study the relation of gender, particularly sexual identities inside of candomble, and the question of transe. Other prupose is to discuss and enrich, with the international academic staff, the question of sexual identities in religions such as haytian vodun and Cuban santeria, two critical prisms of the studies on religions from this side of the Atlantic sea; or simply to dialogue with Benin vodun on the topic. The research is been carried some time ago and tries to discuss the question from authors such as Ruth Landes, Roberto Motta, Patricia Birman, Erwan Dianteil, Alfred Metraux, Vivaldo da Costa Lima, Reginaldo Prandi and other anthropological works that referred to studies on other sides of the world, particularly those of Roberte Hamayon, Saladin d´Anglure, Brac de la Perriere and Bogoraz.
