In discussing these conditions it is implied that reference is made to the so-called idiopathic forms of the disease.Thrombocytopenic purpura assumes a variety of clinical forms, varying widely in severity but having in common hemorrhagic manifestations associated with thrombocytopenia, increased capillary fragility, prolonged bleeding time and defective clot retraction. The marrow is active and essentially normal. The clinical course may be acute and fulminating, active but stationary, or...Bibliography1.
