Resumo

1.1. One thousand cases of carcinoma of the colon have been reviewed. 2.2. The figures are probably inaccurate because of incomplete study of many cases. 3.3. There was no significant sex difference in incidence or site of lesion. 4.4. Seventy per cent of the lesions were located in the sigmoid and rectum. 5.5. Five per cent of the cases presented multiple primary carcinomas of the colon. 6.6. Females were slightly more common than males in the multiple lesion group. 7.7. Eleven per cent of all cases had associated polyps. 8.8. Forty-five per cent of the multiple cases had associated polyps. 9.9. Cases illustrating the various combinations of multiple lesions and polyps are presented.
