Field trips were made monthly from October 2004 to October 2006, registering the environmental characteristics and flowering and fructification periods for each taxon. Fourthy taxa belonging to ten genera were confirmed: Bulbostylis Kunth (five), Carex L. (three), Cyperus L. (ten), Eleocharis R. Br. (six), Fimbristylis Vahl (two), Kyllinga Rottb. (two), Pycreus P. Beauv. (two), Rhynchospora Vahl (five), Scleria Berg. (four) e Websteria S.H. Wrigth (one). Bulbostylis subtilis M. G. Lopez is a new record for Southern Brazil.
