Unfortunately no bacteriological or hematological studies were made. Fourteen years later Brown70 reported the first case of acute infectious pharyngitis with complete blood studies. The patient showed a marked leukopenia and on one occasion the polymorphonuclears were reduced to one per cent. From then until Schultz75 reported his cases of agranulocytic angina, examples of an agranulocytic blood picture were described by Schwartz,73 Türk,72 and Marchand.74As early as 1920, Moore and Foley7reported agranulocytic blood pictures following the arsphenamines. Since then many cases have been added to the literature....References1 ROHNERBALDRIDGEHANSMANN FJCWGH: Chronic benzene poisoning, Arch. Path. and Lab. Med., 1926, i, 221.
