O estudo do conto “Olhar”, da obra Romance Negro e Outras Historias, de Rubem Fonseca e de Hannibal – o filme, de Ridley Scott aponta a antropofagia como traco da arte contemporânea. No conto, encontramos o narrador confidenciando sua condicao de aprendiz da estetica da carne; no filme, Dr. Lecter e mestre e aliciador daqueles que considera aptos ao desenvolvimento da alteridade por meio do rito antropofagico. Aprendiz e mestre apresentam semelhancas, especialmente em relacao a habitos e preferencias culturais, mas a analise demonstra que o objetivo antropofagico das personagens e distinto. Enquanto o narrador do conto aprende a antropofagia orgânica e estetica, Hannibal adota a antropofagia terapeutica, com o objetivo de higienizar a sociedade de seus seres ignobeis. FLESH LEARNERS: THE ANTHOPOPHAGY OF THE GAZE IN RUBEM FONSECA´S “OLHAR” AND RIDLEY SCOTT´S HANNIBAL The analysis of Rubem Fonseca´s “Olhar”, collected in his Romance Negro e Outras Historias, and of Ridley Scott´s Hannibal- the film suggests anthropophagy as a trait in contemporary art. In Fonseca´s short story, the narrator confides us his condition of learner of the aesthetics of the flesh; in the movie, Dr. Lecter teaches those he judges to be fit to the anthropophagic ritual. Learner and master present similarities, especially in relation to habits and cultural preferences, but analysis shows that their anthropophagic goal is diverse. While the short story’s narrator learns organic anthropophagy and aesthetics, Hannibal adopts therapeutic anthropophagy, having as his goal to hygienise society from its ignoble beings.
