Path analysis for yield components of sugarcane via BLUP The definition of characters that are useful for indirect selection for yield is crucial at the initial selection stages in sugarcane breeding program. The present study was carried out to evaluate both direct and indirect influences of mean stalk height, mean stalk diameter (SD) and stalk numbers per plot (SN) on the stalk yield per hectare (SYH) in the phases of cane-plant and ratoon.
