ResumoThis paper analyses the digital 35mm aerial photographs of the Canguiri Experiment Station from the Federal University of P arana, located 18km north of Curitiba, Parana State, Brasil. The 1:10.000 aerial photographs, normal color and infrared color, were taken with the KODAK digital camera DCS460 CIR with an individual pixel size of 0,72m. For the analysis, it was selected one normal color photography and the respective infrared color that covered most of the forest area on the Experimental Station. The photographs were enhanced using four different tools avaliable in the software Adobe Photoshop 4.01. The results showed the potential value of the infrared color photos for vegetation mapping, since they provided better diferentiation of forest species than the normal color photos.
