ResumoThis article aims to evince how symbolic resources presented by cultural mass productions can promote forms of access to the aesthetic experience. Through the analysis of dialogues between homosexuals personages in two Brazilian soap operas, A Proxima Vitima (Globo Net, 1995) and Torre de Babel (Globo Net, 1998-99), we search to disclose how televising fictional representations can give us some interpretive keys to four essential dimensions of the aesthetic experience: a) the self-understanding of the citizens; b) the experience of the relation with the other; c) the bonds with the culture and the statements that construct the social relation; e d) the long run project of self-construction and cultural construction.
