ResumoThis study develops a model of car handling costs in rail freight classification yards. It is part of a broader effort at CSX Transportation (CSXT) to improve network management and cost efficiency. The study focuses on how CSXT might take advantage of variations in labor costs among terminals in its car classification and blocking strategy by calibrating its network flow models to account for such variations.
