Migração intermunicipal no Brasil: a dinâmica dos fluxos migratórios municipais

Resumo

The migration of people has been a subject of much research in the literature studied in recent years and especially with more emphasis on the decade of thirty of the last century. Several are the focus of research in this area that is international migration from the application of descriptive works complex models. On the brazilian’case the vast majority of studies have used aggregate data with information of macro region. Information of intercity migration helps to understand the changing dynamics of economic and social development in a lower level of aggregation, the city. In this context, this study aims to describe the flow of intercity migrants, particularly among cities with at least 100 inhabitants between 1995 and 2000. For this builds up a matrix of intercity migration. The results show among the largest intercity in net migration rate emphasizing those that stand out more positively and negatively as well as intercity that are highlighted in the regional migration and immigration. Among the highlights from the largest positive net migration is Lauro de Freitas, city of Bahia state and the extreme, ie, between the lowest net (negative) Itabuna in Bahia state. The results also show that not always the largest cities in suits stocks are the main issue as the migrants from the cities that have more positive net migration, are not capitals. Among the smaller net (negative), are Recife and Belem.
