Professional Masters Programs Analysis

The development of Engineering is of utmost importance for the growth of the country. The search for more interaction between university and industry for innovation has been increasing during recent years. For this purpose the Professional Master’s Degree (MP) can be an important tool. Joint research projects aim at promoting the competitiveness of the Brazilian companies in a globalized world. This paper presents the importance of graduate studies on Engineering and the cooperation between the university and industry, in Brazil. How the MP can help with respect to this cooperation is discussed. Based on the ideas presented, characteristics that are appropriate for MP in the field of engineering are described at the end of the article
