ResumoMorphological and anatomical studies of four Coccoloba P. Browne species from Alagoinhas, Bahia, Brazil, were carried out with the objective to know and interpret the floral structure negleted in the taxonomic studies. The study was performed in native populations of C. lucidula Benth., C. parimensis Benth., C. ramosissima Wedd. and C. rosea Meisn. The samples collected for this study are deposited in the HUEFS Herbarium . The results showed that the Coccoloba flower morphology is highly homogeneous in this group. The basic floral structure is a pentamerous perianth, fused at the base, forming a small hypanthium, with eight epitepalus stamens and a tricarpellary gynoecium. The nectary in a disc shape is situated between the stamen bases and the gynoecium. Descriptions and illustrations of floral structures focusing on the nectaries and on their utilization for the group taxonomic are provided.
